Life of Lies 10 YEARS AGO Outside on the front porch, a small black-haired boy sat on his grandfather's lap, playing with his new whistle. He blew into it and it let out a loud shriek. He laughed excitedly as his grandpa chuckled. Then his face was serious. His eyes were blank, his face like stone. The little boy dropped the whistle. "Grandpa?" he said. His grandpa didn't move. Has Damon met his match?Damon sat lounging in his tree. Elena was at a motel somewhere in town with Mutt because they "didn't like sleeping in a car". Big babies. He glanced around nonchalantly. He didn't have a care in the world. No Shinichi controlling him, no Caroline manipulating anyone(though she couldn't manipulate the Damon Nut, she was still annoying). There was a crack and something knocked him out of his tree, where he plummeted fourty feet to the ground. Nothing broke, thank God, but still...He looked up, dusting himself off, and saw a woman with black hair waving in the breeze, her hands on her curvy hips, staring at him with a sense of pride.
